Definition:	Large neuron located in the octopus cell area of the posterior division of the ventral cochlear nucleus (called dorsal tail of the ventral cochlear nucleus by Cajal and nucleus interfascicularis by Lorente de No), whose dendrites emanate from one side of the cell body, giving them a shape reminiscent of an octopus.
