Resource:Human Imaging Database

Name: Resource:Human Imaging Database
Description: The Human Imaging Database (HID) is an extensible database management system developed to handle the increasingly large and diverse datasets collected as part of the MBIRN and FBIRN collaboratories and throughout clinical imaging communities at large.

This extensible database management system is comprised of four core components: the HID Schema provides for customization to allow addition of relevant information from particular sites without requiring modification to the schema itself; the HID Graphical User Interface (GUI) provides for the management of subjects and experiments; the Clinical Assessment Layout Manager (CALM) facilitates creation of online clinical assessment entry forms for the GUI; and the XML-Based Clinical Experiment Data Exchange Schema (XCEDE) that provides an extensive metadata hierarchy for describing and documenting research and clinical studies using five general hierarchical levels: project, study, subject, visit, and series.
